Turning Point’s Greeley Facility Gets a Facelift

Turning Point Center for Youth & Family Development's Outpatient Facility in Greeley (913 11th Ave) is sporting a fresh facade after work done late summer and early fall. The building has needed work for a while, and we are excited for what this chapter brings.

Turning Point has been providing behavioral health services in Greeley and throughout Weld County for decades. But, after a shift away from Day Treatment programming (due to school districts meeting this need internally), the 2020 pandemic, which made in-person services more challenging, vandalism to the building, and multiple downtown Greeley floods that required complete renovations of the facility's downstairs, the building needed some improvements.

Thanks to a match grant from the Greeley Downtown Development Authority, we were able to freshen up the paint, improve lighting, update the old, faded canopy sign, and make changes to the front entry that would significantly reduce the risk of future flooding. We also tapped into funding support from Signal Behavioral Health to increase safety in the back of the building by installing a fence around the parking area. Turning Point also added security cameras and improved lighting in the back to enhance the building's overall safety. Johnstown Scheels donated a basketball hoop that staff can use with clients for incentives, group, and behavior coaching activities. As an older downtown building, there is still work to do. As a nonprofit, allocating funds for work like this can be more challenging, so we are incredibly grateful for funders who are willing to help. We are pleased with the improvements, thankful for the reduced stress during the next torrential downpour, and confident we have a safer, more comfortable facility for staff and clients.

In 2026, we are increasing our outreach efforts in Greeley and Weld County. Thanks to a grant from The Weld Trust, we will have a staff member leading the efforts and providing free behavior coaching, case management, and parenting support to low-income families. Thanks to United Way's Thrive by 25, we have funding to subsidize service fees for youth whose families face financial barriers. We also provide transportation and virtual treatment options for Weld County youth and families who face transportation barriers to accessing care, thanks to support from Signal Behavioral Health. Turning Point is thankful for these partnerships and the work we are doing to eliminate the obstacles in accessing life-changing mental health, behavioral health, and substance use treatment services.

Turning Point currently provides the following services through the Greeley outpatient facility: Adolescent Intensive Outpatient ProgramIndividual and Family TherapyBehavior Coaching ServicesDUI/DWAI online classes, transportation to Fort Collins for youth participating in the Partial Hospitalization Program, mental health and substance use disorder evaluations, and neuropsychological testing services.
