Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program
Dual Diagnosis
Turning Point’s Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is designed to provide a highly structured, intensive level of care for youth who require more support than traditional outpatient services but do not require inpatient hospitalization.
This dual-diagnosis program serves adolescents ages 13-17 struggling with both mental health challenges and substance use disorders, ensuring an integrated approach to treatment.
Trauma-informed, evidence-based care is provided through individual, group, and family therapy in a supportive and therapeutic environment. The program focuses on stabilization, skill-building, relapse prevention, and family engagement, helping youth remain in their home and community while receiving intensive support.
Youth and families referred to the PHP program will engage in:
Intake Assessment & Treatment Planning with weekly reviews to track progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Individual Therapy tailored to each youth’s needs, which may include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Substance Use Counseling.
Group Therapy focused on skill development, symptom management, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, relapse prevention, and other relevant DBT, TF-CBT, and addiction recovery topics.
Family Therapy to strengthen relationships, enhance communication, and build resiliency within the family and caregiver system.
Psychoeducation & Life Skills Training to help youth develop coping strategies, improve emotional intelligence, and build healthy decision-making skills.
Comprehensive Case Management to coordinate care, connect youth and families with additional resources, and ensure continuity of services.
Psychiatric & Medication Management for youth requiring evaluation and ongoing medication support.
Prosocial & Recreational Activities to foster positive peer interactions, encourage healthy hobbies, and support social development.
Academic Support & Study Time to help youth stay on track with schoolwork, catch up on missed assignments, and develop effective study habits.
Transition Planning & Aftercare Support to help youth step down to a lower level of care with ongoing therapeutic services, including the opportunity to continue working with the same therapist after program completion.
Transportation: Transportation support can be requested to ensure clients have access and resources for attending the group.
Youth in the PHP program receive 27 hours of structured treatment per week, including 5.5 hours per day of therapeutic programming (group, individual, and family therapy, along with case management and psychoeducation). The expected length of stay is approximately 3-6 weeks, with adjustments based on individual needs and treatment goals.
