Community Centered Services Community Centered Services encompass all of Turning Point's non-residential programs. These services include in-home treatment and therapies, group and foster home consulting services, tracking services, day treatment and aftercare follow-up. Turning Point’s Community Centered Services provide support to adolescents and their families to either prevent more intensive services or to allow for a gradual “step down” in intensity from higher levels of care. Such support and gradual community reintegration decrease recidivism and improve independent performance. Services include day treatment, individual, group & family therapies, in-home therapies, substance abuse treatment, tracking services & aftercare follow-up. Community Centered Services emphasize wraparound treatment to encourage parents to address challenges independently and to inspire youth to overcome pressures using individual strengths to facilitate change. Therapies used within this program provide information to parents, mentors, peers and the clients’ communities in an effort to change behavior from within the client’s natural enviroment. This approach allows families to take the lead in setting treatment goals. |

Substance Abuse Programs Turning Point’s Substance Abuse treatment and prevention activities include 12-step meetings, educational groups, individual, family and group therapies. These activities allow youth to participate in group discussions, work together through the recovery process and develop strategies and skills that prevent relapse. Licensed by the Colorado Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, the program teaches healthy coping skills, enhances family and individual stability through education and therapy, and prepares youth for life as responsible, productive and self-sufficient members of society. “I can honestly say this program worked for us as a family as well as for (our son.)” -Client Parent Turning Point currently employs eight Certified Addiction Counselors Level III and approximately twenty five additional staff currently working toward their Certified Addiction Counselor Levels I, II or III. For more information, please contact Clinical Director Kim Bappe Turning Point’s Methamphetamine Treatment Program provides research-based, enhanced substance abuse treatment with the goal of educating youth to prevent substance abuse and to prevent relapse where problems have already developed. Education is specific to the physical, psychological, neurological and social impacts of meth use. Clients participate in 12-Step recovery groups and individual and group therapy, and develop a relapse prevention plan with their therapist. For more information, please contact Quality Assurance and Clinical Training Coordinator Josh Leber Residential Programs Turning Point's accredited residential programs are designed to meet the needs of male and female youth ages 12-18 with behavioral, mental health, drug and alcohol, legal, and/or educational concerns. Services provided include medication management with a psychiatrist; individual, group and family therapies; substance abuse and mental health treatment; an individualized education; and community service activities. Transition Programs Transition Programs at Turning Point prepare adolescents to transition into the community by developing education, life-skills and self-sufficiency. These programs emphasize making the transition to independent living. Here clients practice skills necessary to achieve self-sufficiency by obtaining jobs and/or completing a high school Diploma or GED. “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
