Position summary and general purpose:Â Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate treatment plans for assigned caseload as well as facilitate individual, group and family treatment sessions.
Role qualifications:
Master’s degree in mental health discipline.
Certified Addictions Counselor II, or actively seeking this certification.
Minimum two years clinical experience in client assessment, treatment planning, and implementation. Prefer work experience with individuals and families, with emphasis on adolescents who are delinquent or pre-delinquent. Prefer interest in outdoor education and experiential treatment modalities.
Self-directed work style and ability to collaborate effectively with Program Director, agency administrators, and all personnel to meet agency objectives. Demonstrated ability to show initiative in managing job responsibilities, communicating job performance ideas and concerns to supervisor, and seeking resources to maintain and build areas of expertise.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a representative of the agency, and thus converse professionally and knowledgeably with clients, their families, licensing, referral agents, law enforcement and the public at large.
Flexibility in work hours to accommodate program needs to
include evening and weekend hours.
Position Responsibilities:
Development and Implementation of Client Services:
Brief staff team on each new client’s comprehensive history, previous treatment, and initial treatment goals.
Report client progress and treatment concerns to the Licensed Therapist and share all treatment suggestions from the Licensed Therapist with the staff team.
Work collaboratively with clinical staff in decision-making process involving clinical issues that impact treatment.
Participate in clinical on-call rotation as scheduled.
Coordinate with previous treatment programs to ensure continuity of care for clients.
Provide leadership through assisting and supporting counselors in implementing treatment plan interventions, milieu management and crisis intervention.
Perform the duties identified as case management in CDHS regulation 7.705.21 which include:
Responsibility for case management of each child on their caseload.
Participate actively in the admission, treatment planning, discharge and aftercare planning for the child. In addition is directly responsible for completing client discharge summaries.
Assure appropriate information about the child and his/her background is shared with other staff and maintain communication with parents, guardians, or referring agency or the agency responsible for discharge planning and follow-up care for the child, including setting monthly staffings.
Assure that an individual child’s plan is developed and required treatment plan review and modifications are made.
Assure that the treatment plan for each child is implemented, including treatment by specialists, and documented in the child’s file.
Direct Care:
Assume primary responsibility for assigned caseload to include the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a 72-hour treatment plan, a 10-day comprehensive treatment plan, quarterly updated treatment plan and monthly reviews.
Facilitate weekly individual and family therapy sessions for each client on caseload.
Report to client’s treatment team and program staff all information regarding progress, significant events, issues, or concerns.
Document all individual and family sessions in client file.
Directly responsible for the client’s record and compliance with licensing, contract, and CARF requirements.
Maintain client records in the agency’s computerized database system (OSCAR).
Partner with program staff, as appropriate, to provide scheduled client groups.
Work as an outdoor educator in the Adventure-Based Program as assigned.
Develop discharge and aftercare plans for client caseload.
Work collaboratively with the Treatment Team to identify graduation plan and transition needs of each client to ensure a smooth and successful transition back into the community.
Obtain resources from the Transition Coordinator to offer to each client on an individualized basis.
Directly responsible for the coordination and provision of transition resources for clients on caseload.

Essential functions:
Effectively represent the mission and purpose of Turning Point.
Oversee all aspects of the client’s treatment services and delivery.
Coordinate with the Licensed Therapist and Program Director to ensure the quality of therapeutic services for the clients served in all areas of the program.
Supervisory responsibilities: No direct reports.
Physical demands and work environment:
Ability to do occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds (physical).
Ability to use computerized database system for documentation and record keeping (visual).
Ability to communicate with clients, families, referral agents and other professionals in person, by telephone and by email (verbal, visual, hearing).
Ability to climb stairs to access clients at all times in the buildings (physical).
Ability to operate a motor vehicle in order to transport clients (physical, visual).
